Whenever I think of the Wild West I think of Gabby Hayes, the perennial sidekick to a lot of old time cowboy heros. Believe me I don't want to think about Gabby Hayes because I could never figure out why any squeaky clean, law abiding cowboy wanted such a scruffy character hanging around all the time saying stupid things like, "Yer durn tootin'.", "Durn persnickety female.", and "By cracky!" And he always had a goofy hat too.
But I was a little girl, maybe that's why I never bought into the whole Gabby Hayes thing.
