Sukkot begins on 15 Tishri and lasts for eight days (seven in Israel). The festival marks the end of the agricultural year and is celebrated by taking four species of plant - palm (lulav), myrtle and willow, together with the citron (etrog) - and carrying them in procession in the Synagogue.
Sukkot is one of the three Pilgrim Festivals.
