St. Clement, represented by an anchor, was converted to the Christian faith by St. Paul and became the Bishop of Rome, Pope Clement I. But around 100 he was martyred by being bound to an anchor and cast into the sea.
He is the Patron Saint of Dundee, Scotland; boatmen; marble workers; mariners; sailors; sick children and stone cutters.
