I had the opportunity once to actually hold a hummingbird which had become trapped in our greenhouse. I was amazed at her small size and delicate body.
She was exhausted from her ordeal and I held her to a butterflybush flower so she could eat and regain her strength. I watched as she sipped the nectar from the flowers.
