The Claddagh is an Irish symbol of affection of two hands holding a crowned heart. The heart in the center of the design represents love, the hands surrounding it represent friendship, and the crown at the top is symbolic of fidelity.
Claddagh rings are worn on the left hand, facing inward, if your heart is spoken for. If you are unattached, the ring is worn on the right hand, facing outward. Use this as a guide for a right or left chest design.
