While certain color schemes and motifs may be traditional within a community, each artist strives to add a personal touch to each piece. The work thus becomes an authentic original and not a mere copy of historic work.
This design is from the Alfold or lowland area of Hungary. The colors in Alfold embroidery range from pink to red, beige to brown, pale green to avacado, with touches of black for accent.
In keeping with the tradition of a very open and hand embroidered look, these designs may contain more jump stitches than usual.
